Hi there, my name is Caitlin and I’m a trauma-informed, relational therapist practicing here in Houston, Texas.
WELCOME.
For me, the therapeutic relationship is everything. We are partners in this process and I feel honored to be your co-pilot.
My personal mission statement is to “foster the light within, share the light with others, and help others to do the same.” We all have both light and dark within us and sometimes, we lose sight of our strengths and inherent goodness. I work with my clients to build insight into self, find acceptance, and create change where necessary. It is through this courageous dive into self, that we can manifest greater connection with others and more contentment in our lives.
A few more words about my work—I specialize in addiction, anxiety and mood disorders, low self-esteem, history of trauma and difficulties stemming from family of origin experiences. I’ve seen that often these things occur together and influence each other and we must look at the entire picture to find relief. I also believe in the wisdom of our bodies in alerting us to the parts of ourselves that need to be seen and through somatic work, we find more powerful healing and capacity for self compassion.
I have training in a variety of interventions, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I also am trained in Brene Brown’s Daring Way™ curriculum.
Some random notes about me—I’m originally from Georgia, but have lived in Houston since 2016. I love to travel and am always looking to have an experience. As a result, my bucket list is long. I am an introspective person and I am working to recognize my creativity in new ways. I tend to pick up new hobbies, most recently it’s been learning to roller skate. My biggest goal is to live a very full life and what this looks like is ever-changing. I have two chiweenies, Blu and Dot, who are utterly ridiculous and bring so much joy.
